Stick to the Maintenance Schedule
Aside from regular oil changes, you should also follow the maintenance schedule recommended by the manufacturer. Other routine maintenance tasks include changing the brake pads and rotors, changing the other fluids (brake, transmission, power steering, etc.), and getting regular tuneups. Your owner’s manual (which you can find online if you don’t have the hard copy anymore) will give you a detailed list of the maintenance you should do at certain intervals. Your mechanic can also recommend maintenance, especially as the car gets older and racks up the miles.
